How to use Video Marketing to your advantage!

If a picture is worth ‘a thousand words’, then what is a video worth?

It’s been almost 40 years since the introduction of Video Marketing. It all started in 1983 with the collaboration of Apple and the Super Bowl, which marketed the premiere of the new Macintosh computer.

Now, in 2020, video marketing has become a significant part of our daily lives. According to Hubspot, 81% of businesses use video as a marketing tool, which is up 63% from the past year. By 2022, online videos will make up more than 82% of all consumer internet traffic. (Cisco).

The key is to provide your existing customers with engaging content, all the while, creating new eye-catching content that will drive up your customer acquisition.

Optimal video marketing content only needs to be 15 seconds. Within those 15 seconds, it is crucial that you capture the attention of your audience within the first 3-4 seconds.

Without an eye-catching beginning, there is a good chance your content will get caught in ‘the scroll’.

This time crunch forces you to be clear and concise with your audience. It also optimizes audience retention.

Studies have shown that the average human attention span is 12 seconds. (Similar to a goldfish, as I am sure you have heard.) Consumers are more likely to watch a video that is shorter and offers good value, than one that involves a time commitment.

No matter what industry you are in, video marketing can be incorporated. Here are a few types of marketing videos that could be included in your upcoming strategy.

- Demo Videos

- Advertising Videos

- Product Videos

- Brand Awareness Videos

- Event Videos

- Explanation Video
